There are many "sevens" in Revelation--seven churches, seven spirits, seven seals, seven trumpets, seven bowls. There are also seven beatitudes or blessings in Revelation. We are reminded that Revelation is the "word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ." The first blessing assures us that it is a blessing to read God's word and to hear it, if one will "take to heart what is written in it."
